UNICEF Communication Specialist Jobs In Jamaica 2022 Under the guidance of the Head of Office ( Representative), the Communications Specialist serves as a Strategic Business Partner, accountable for developing, managing, coordinating, networking, implementing and monitoring an advocacy and communication strategy and associated products and activities designed to reach and engage various audiences, on an ongoing basis, with the objective of promoting awareness, understanding, support and respect for children’s and women’s rights, and support for UNICEF’s mission, priorities and programmes in the country office, within the region and at a global level and those of the UN Country Team.
This will involve the following key functions:
- Communication strategy
- Media relations
- Networking and partnerships
- Celebrities and special events
- Global priorities and campaigns
- Resource mobilization support
- Management
- Monitoring and evaluation
- Capacity building and support

Eligibility Criteria
EDUCATION
An Advanced University Degree in one of the following areas is required:
- Communication
- Journalism
- Public Relations
or
A first University Degree in a relevant field combined with twelve (12) years of professional experience in the field of:-
- Journalism
- Communication
- External Relations
- Public Affairs
- Public Relations
- Corporate Commination
Experience
- Five (5) years of progressively responsible and relevant professional work experience in communication, print, broadcast, and/or new media.
- Field work experience for National Officers (NO).
LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY
- Fluency in English is required.
- Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language is an asset
