Applications are invited for World Economic Forum Jobs In Geneva 2022 WEF is looking for a Programme Specialist to support TFA’s key strategic priorities at the global level, including accelerating private sector action on sustainable commodity supply chains, and and advancing ambitious policy measures to create a strong enabling environment to halt deforestation.

Job Title: Strategic Programmes Specialist, Tropical Forest Alliance

Reporting Lines & Interactions

The successful candidate will be based in Geneva and will work closely with TFA’s Head of Private Sector Engagement and Strategic Partnerships, Head of Public Sector Engagement, and leads working on the private sector, policy and landscapes engagement.

Duties & Responsibilities

Project Management and Events Support

  • Provide project management support including developing and managing project plans, and keeping work on track and on time.
  • Support for design and delivery of key events and virtual and in-person meetings, including invitations, session design, and speaker management.
  • Liaise with key stakeholders and strategic partners, including TFA consultants, to ensure timely delivery of project priorities
  • Support for the design and delivery of key research reports and other publications
  • Ensure strong alignment with the communications team and the delivery of quality communications outputs
  • Liaise with TFA teams in Latin America, Southeast Asia and China to help ensure programming and strategic alignment.

Research, Analysis and Reporting

  • Conduct research and assessment of TFA stakeholders as needed
  • Support with partner-facing PowerPoint presentations
  • Any other responsibilities assigned by the team

Eligibility Criteria

Education

  • Master’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field

Experience

  • A minimum of 5 years of professional experience working in the sustainability space, preferably on deforestation, sustainable supply chains, or climate change at a relevant organization.

Skills & Expertise

  • Service-oriented team player with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong problem solving, analytical, and synthesizing skills and the ability to communicate complex information succinctly
  • Able to manage multiple competing priorities and tight deadlines in a fast-paced, highly demanding environment
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills, and a strong eye for detail
  • Strong command of Excel and PowerPoint required
  • An interest in sustainability, climate change, deforestation, sustainable supply chains, and the agriculture and food industry is a plus
  • Fluency in English; working knowledge of one or more French, Spanish, and Portuguese would be an asset
