Objectives Of The Programme
World Health Organization WHO Jobs In Pakistan 2022 To promote the appropriate organization and the effective operation of comprehensive health systems which provide the essential elements of PHC, mainly Maternal, Neonatal and Child Health (MNCH) package, including making pregnancy safer, Integrated Management of Neonatal and Child Health(IMNCI), to the entire population in response to local priorities, with specialized support and services which involves communities and health-related sectors in responsible and coordinated ways.
Duties & Responsibilities
The incumbent will perform the following duties:
- Review, plan and implement models for evidence-based and integrated MNCH services.
- Develop and support the implementation of the basic package of health services at different levels of PHC, with focus on MNCH.
- Review and promote the use of MNCH monitoring and supervision tools for informed decisions.
- Monitor the effect of devolution on health services in the districts and suggest ways of improving the access, quality, equity and efficiency of devolved health services.
- Provide technical support to the country in developing national health care delivery models in rural and urban areas.
- Provide technical support for developing a Districts Health System in Pakistan with special emphasis on:a) building health districtmanagerial capacity;b) designing models for ambulatory care as well as the gate-keeping system at the district level;c) developing home health care outreach activities;d) developing provincial and district community based systems for improving health outcomes.
- Provide technical support on human resource development of staff at all levels delivering care at PHC including design of training programmes, revision of curricula and job descriptions.
- Provide technical support and guidance in the periodic review of the curricula for the training of Community Health Workers (CHWs) with focus on community midwives and participate in the job performance; introduce elements of management in the training and continuing education of all health workers,particularly of trainers/supervisors of CHWs/PHC workers related to MNCH.
Eligibility Criteria
Education
- Essential: University degree in Medicine and Master’s degree in Public Health.
- Desirable: Specialization in the field of Primary Health Care preferably maternal, child or health promotion.
Experience
- Essential: At least 10 years experience combined at the national and international level in the organization of primary care health systems in a managerial capacity including at least 5 years experience in developing countries.
- Desirable: Experience in the field of PHC management under decentralized health systems and in health system research.
Skills & Expertise
- Good knowledge and skills in planning, implementation and evaluation of making pregnancy safer, child survival and development including nutritional interventions and other related PHC elements; Sound leadership skills.
